YAHWEH

Yahweh, Yahuah, Jehovah, יהוה, or Ha’Shem?

THE LAYERS OF COVER UP HIDING THE NAME OF YAHWEH

1st LAYER OF COVER UP:

I was amazed to find this paragraph in the preface of one of my New King James Version Bibles:

“The covenant name of God in the Old Testament, represented by the Hebrew

consonants YHWH, is translated “LORD” or “GOD” (using capital letters as shown),

as it has been throughout the history of the King James Bible. In this edition the

capitalized form is also used whenever the covenant name is quoted in the New

Testament from a passage in the Old Testament.”

A video clip advises that his name was also removed from many other bible versions as listed in their prefaces near the front cover. Please click the following YouTube link: External link opens in new tab or window“God”sense NONSENSE/Bible Translation Prefaces

As it turns out, His name has been removed from the entire text of the bible at least 6,823 times. This they did in defiance of the command in Deuteronomy 12:32 which reads “What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.” So, the editors of this version of the Bible as did others, tampered with, or altered the words of Moses along with parts of his command that had the name Yahweh in it. How can they produce a bible which averages between 1,200 and 1,600 pages without ever mentioning the name of the main person in the entire book?!!!

2nd LAYER OF COVER UP:

They failed to define the word LORD as Yahweh in the Strong’s Concordance but instead defined it as Jehovah when clarifying the ancient 4 letters of YHWH or YHVH (which collectively are called the tetragrammation). This mongrel word Jehovah was wrongfully built by inserting the vowels out of the word Adonai in between the 4 letters. Not only are editors scripturally prohibited from changing the words in the bible, but now we ended up with that crazy word “hovah” built into the end of the name which in Hebrew means ruin or wickedness.

3rd LAYER OF COVER UP:

There never was and still isn’t a letter “J” in the Hebrew and Greek languages. The letter showed up in the English language about 500 years ago in 1598. Because of this we know for sure that the people mentioned in the bible 2,000-4,000 years ago never heard Yahweh’s name pronounced as Jehovah. This leaves God who was first introduced to us within the confines of the Hebrew language, stuck with a name which fundamentally no longer sounds fully Hebrew. Jeh, Yeh, and Yah which stands for the shortened version of his name, being the first three letters of it, and resulted from transliteration into English; all seem to be interchangeable in the minds of scholars. However, Psalms 68:4 presents the shortened version of his name as “Yah”.

4th LAYER OF COVER UP:

The Sopherim or Scribes who converted the Ancient Scrolls from Paleo Hebrew script or Idiograms (i.e.- symbols which represent ideas) to Aramaic or Babylonian Square script in the Massoretic Text of the Tanach (Old Testament) seem to have done a good job of translating everything except for our creator’s personal name in which they deliberately covered it up like when they altered his 4-letter name יהוה which has been coined as the “Tetragram” to “Adonai” in 134 passages. We know this was done because the Dead Sea Scrolls which predate the Massoretic Text gives the Tetragram in those passages instead. The word Elohim (rulers or mighty ones) was also changed to LORD or GOD in several places. This must have been done in obedience to the nonscriptural Talmudic Command, to not pronounce or reveal the name openly in public because one who does this has no place in the world to come. By this rule it is not to be used openly but to be disguised when written.

Those who advocate the pronunciation of Yahuah or YaHuWaH instead of Yahweh offer a historical account claiming that avoidance of persecution is another reason why the Jews chose to hide the creator’s name in public. The claim is that the Jews were being teased while living in the Babylonian Captivity since the name of their country Yahudah sounded so close to the name of their God Yahuah who obviously appeared to be too weak to protect them from captivity or had abandoned them. They claim there is a long “U” or OO sound in the middle of the personal name of the creator and that this is why the word “Jew” also has the same OO sound in it. Perhaps the name Yahuah really is more accurate than Yahweh. My Coptic friend in Egypt says that most Christians in the Middle East call his name “Yahwah”.

5th LAYER OF COVER UP:

The Greek translators of the Septuagint version of scriptures further obscured his name by changing the name and meaning of the 2nd book of the Bible. As the name of this book passed from the Hebrew language into the Greek language, they changed the name of this book from Shemoth (Names) to Exodus (Departing through an exit). This causes the reader to focus on leaving instead of looking for names. It was called the book of names and starts out listing the names of the persons who left Egypt with Moses. If we are looking for names like we are supposed to be when reading this book, we would come to the most important name of all listed in Exodus 3:15 where Yahweh affirms that his name is The LORD forever, for a memorial to all generations. The Strong’s Concordance defines the word “LORD” in this verse as “Jehovah” which we, Wikipedia, and a whole host of scholars know to be “Yahweh”, and the word “Memorial” means remembrance, so we are to remember his name this way for all generations. Isaiah 42:8 also confirms what his name is.

6th LAYER OF COVER UP:

Yet another layer of obscurity is added to hide the name of Yahweh in the book of Acts chapter 2. Here the definitions of the word “LORD”/ “Lord” changed as it passed from the language of OT Hebrew to NT Greek. This is where Peter gives a sermon on the day of Pentecost to explain the outpouring of Yahweh’s spirit which caused many to appear drunk when they heard them speaking in tongues. This is found in Acts 2:16-20 where he quotes from Joel 2:31-32. The problem is that the definition of the word “Lord” in this book of Acts reference is completely different from the definition of the word “LORD” in the reference from the book of Joel where Peter claims this verbal cut-and-paste of scripture comes from. The difference is that when that quote was lifted from the book of Joel the name of Yahweh was lost in the schuffle before it ended up in the book of Acts. The Strong’s Concordance definition for the word “LORD” in the book of Joel is the Hebrew word “Jehovah” meaning “the existing one” which modern scholars confirm is actually “Yahweh”, but the Strong’s Concordance definition of the word “Lord” in the book of Acts is the Hebrew word “Kurios” meaning “lord or owner” How can anyone call on his name in the book of Acts if they don’t know what his name is? If you are like me, you thought Peter was talking about Jesus (Yahshua) when he said the word Lord here in Acts.

ABOUT SABOTAGE OF THE NAME:

Most Orthodox and Hasidic Jews will not publicly say, type, or write any true version of the tetragrammation of the heavenly father’s personal name, which is spelled YHWH in English. Some even think the title Lord, God, Elohim and Adonai are also too pure to spell, type, or mention out loud in public so they resort to putting a dash in place of some vowels so they cannot be accused of fully saying these names or titles. Yet others resort to use of the phrase “Ha’Shem” meaning “the name”. It is said that in the Talmud the readers are commanded not to speak the name of YHWH in public. Supposedly their feeling is that if they refuse to speak or write the name, then there is no possibility of anyone taking it in vain. This is partly due to an effort to obey the 3rd commandment which is listed right below in the quote from the book of Exodus (Shemoth) followed by an explanation from the online “Explanatory Notes” of the “The Scriptures” Version of the Bible published by ISR used with free software provided by “The Sword Project”:

“Shemoth 20:7 “You do not bring the Name ofיהוה your Elohim to naught, for יהוה

does not leave the one unpunished who brings His Name to naught.”

(Shemoth is the Hebrew title of the book of Exodus)

“In their extreme and mistaken attempt to observe the Third Commandment, a

“Fence to the Scriptures” was built called the Massorah. In at least 134 passages

the Sopherim altered יהוה to “Adonai” to prevent the pronunciation of the Name.

It is alleged by some that the Massoretes did not give the true vocalisation for

יהוה but used the vowel signs for the alternative title “Adonai” for the same

reason. In the traditional translations, this practice continues with the Name

being translated with “LORD”, “HERE” and other titles.”

I understand from this quote, and from other sources, that the Sopherim were scribes who maintained copies of the bible by hand, and the Massorah was a special copy which served as a fence to protect the purity of the text. This copy had codes or explanatory instructions placed into it or along the borders to tell what a real text looked like. This was done to prevent people from adding to or taking away words from the version of the text they had copied.

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY THE SCRIPTURES EMPHASIZE A NAME WE DO NOT USE?

If you do a search in the Strong’s Concordance to the Bible you will find that there are many references to occurrences of the word “name” appearing in the scriptures of the Tanach (O.T.) and the Brit Chadasa (N.T.) as it relates to the name of the world’s creator who is the Elohim (God) of Israel. Christian songs based upon scriptures like “The name of the Lord is a Strong Tower”, “Blessed be the Name of the Lord”, “In the Name of the Lord”, “Blessed be the Name”, “Lord I lift your Name on High” are covering up the very name that they were made to promote. If the name of the Lord is a strong tower we can run into for safety, then we should know what that name is so we can use it to be safe. Likewise, we have to know and sing his actual name instead of his title if we really want to lift his name on high with our vocal praise. Scriptures like “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord” (Psalms 118:26, Matthew 21:9, & 23:39) lack usefulness and meaning when we fail to know and say his actual name in place of the title “Lord”. It is kind of hard to “call upon the name of the Lord” to be “delivered” or “saved” (Joel 2:32 & Acts 2:21) when we don’t even know what his name is and aren’t in the habit of using it.

HOLY MEANS SET-APART AND/OR SPECIAL:

When we say Yahweh or Yahuah there is no way to confuse him with anyone else. There are even other people named Jesus in Mexico but no one else has the father’s name that I know of. So if a person comes into a congregation and prays out loud to someone called “Lord” or sings “Our God is an Awesome God” we would not be sure if he was praying to a spirit who was Hindu, Wiccan, Pagan, Satanist, Muslim, Buddist, Jew, Christian, or something else, but when a person speaks the name of Yahweh we all know that this is the one and only Mighty Elohim of Israel, Jews, Messianics, and Christians. When we use such general terms like LORD and GOD to refer to Yahweh we are putting him on a low level equal to the other generic gods.

HE WANTS HIS NAME TO BE KNOWN BY EVERYONE IN THE WORLD:

Yahweh has stated over and over again in scriptures that he wants his name to be known by all. Here are some of the many scriptures which show his desire for his name to be promoted rather than replaced, concealed, or covered up by a title. In light of this evidence, one has to wonder about the integrity of the religious leaders who are trying to avoid using his name publicly.

Below are scriptures which support the widespread use of his name:

  • DEUTERONOMY 32:3 - “Because I will publish the name of Yahweh: ascribe ye greatness unto our Elohim.” [WOY]

  • PSALMS 113:3 - “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same Yahweh's name is to be praised.” [WOY]

  • JOEL 2:32 - “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of Yahweh shall be delivered: …”. [WOY]

  • MALACHI 1:11- “For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith Yahweh of hosts.” [WOY]

  • MALACHI 4:2 - “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth and grow up as calves of the stall.” [WOY]

  • EZEKIEL 39: 7 - “So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name anymore: and the heathen shall know that I am Yahweh, the Holy One in Israel.” [WOY]

  • JEREMIAH 16:21 - “Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is Yahweh.” [WOY]

  • JEREMIAH 23:26 - “How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; 27 Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal. [WOY]

  • PSALMS 86:9 - “All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Yahweh; and shall glorify thy name.” [WOY]

  • PSALMS 145:21- “My mouth shall speak the praise of Yahweh: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.” [WOY]

  • PSALMS 102:15 - “So the heathen shall fear the name of Yahweh, and all the kings of the earth thy honor.” [WOY]

  • ISAIAH 24:15 - “Wherefore Honor ye Yahweh in the light, even the name of Yahweh Elohim of Israel in the isles of the sea.” [WOY]

"THE SACRED NAME MOVEMENT" OR "THE DEVINE NAME MOVEMENT":

These are derogatory labels used by satanists, spiritual rebels, biblical illiterates, and other simple-minded individuals in an attempt to steer blinded people away from this topic to prevent them from repenting to the point that they start using more corrected Hebrew versions of the names in a way that would really please God (Elohim).

Happy true names!
